CEO NGUYỄN TIẾN ĐỊNH & MECO 2024
On December 11, 2024, CEO Nguyễn Tiến Định (Mr. James) took a flight to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attend the Middle East Coffee Conference (MECO) at the invitation of the event organizers. The flight lasted over 18 hours, but it presented a great opportunity for the young CEO.
What is the Middle East Coffee Conference?
The Middle East Coffee Conference (MECO) 2024, held as part of the 10th edition of the International Coffee and Chocolate Exhibition, will take place from December 10 to 14 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.
This is a premier event in the Middle East, bringing together professionals, enthusiasts, and global leaders from the coffee and chocolate industries.
Saudi Arabia’s coffee sector is experiencing significant growth, with a rising interest in specialty coffee and sustainable practices. The Kingdom is rapidly becoming a key market in the coffee industry, with coffee consumption growing by approximately 10% annually, one of the highest rates in the Middle East. Recent estimates show that the specialty coffee market alone has grown by over 15% per year, reflecting a shift towards higher quality and sustainably sourced beans.
CEO JAMES Nguyen and His 18-Hour Journey
Mr. James was honored to be invited by the MECO organizers to attend this event in the Middle East as a speaker, sharing his expertise and insights in the coffee industry.
On December 12, at 5 PM (Saudi Arabia time), CEO James Nguyen shared his journey of building the VCU company and the process of exporting Vietnamese coffee. This was a great opportunity for him to introduce VCU, Vietnamese coffee, and also gain a deeper understanding of the Middle Eastern market, helping VCU better prepare for future exhibition fairs.
At MECO 2024, he also had the chance to meet many coffee industry experts from around the world, exchange contacts, and promote Vietnamese coffee and the VCU brand. Additionally, the CEO of VCU was able to explore new trends and developments in the coffee industry, contributing to future plans.
In the near future, VCU is certain to enter the Middle Eastern market to bring Vietnam’s specialty coffee closer to the “Two Holy Mosques” region.
